JOB: Atlanta Fed Seeks Workforce Development Human Capital Expert
The Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta seeks qualified candidates for its Community and Economic Development (CED) Advisor or Senior Advisor position, with a specialization in human capital and workforce development. The Atlanta Fed’s CED program conducts research and organizes forums to inform community development efforts in low/moderate income communities and monetary policy. Qualified candidates will have expertise in workforce development policies, systems, and practices to prepare individuals, especially for lower skilled workers and youth, for the current and future labor market; labor force participation; and long-term and chronic unemployment. Candidates should have at least five years of relevant experience, a bachelors (master’s degree preferred) in a related field (e.g. public policy, sociology, finance, planning, economics), and strong communications and analytical skills. Depending on experience and education levels, candidates may be considered for the advisor or senior advisor position.
Serves as an expert for the District on a particular Community and Economic Development (CED) topic (e.g. housing/neighborhood stabilization, human capital, small business, or community development finance). Uses strategic agility and quality decision making to support CED leadership in the development of a comprehensive strategy for a particular CED topic (to include research, outreach, and other initiatives). Executes the strategy and monitors, measures, and reports outcomes. Uses interpersonal savvy to foster strategic relationships with key stakeholders. Uses technical and intellectual skills to independently conduct high-level applied, practitioner- and policy-oriented research. Produces highly specialized and original research papers, articles and reports on CED topics for Bank and System publications. Represents the Bank and CED function on System workgroups, participates in and leads District and System projects. Maintains a high level of knowledge regarding research, best practices, and policy expertise of specified issues related to the community and economic development field. Works with a fair degree of independence and requires some guidance in area of expertise.
